A Study Permit allows international students to study at a designated learning institution in Canada for a specified period. It is mandatory for most international students wishing to study in Canada for more than 6 months.

The Student Direct Stream (SDS) is an expedited stream designed to process study permit applications faster (approximately 20 calendar days).
To be eligible for this stream, you must be a legal resident of one of the following countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Senegal, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam.
In addition, you must show proof that you have paid a full tuition payment for the first year AND have a Guaranteed Investment Certificate of CAN$10,000.

You must apply for a Study Permit Extension 30 days before your study permit expires if you would like to keep studying in Canada.

In order to restore your status an international student, you must apply for a new study permit and apply to restore your temporary resident status
